The role of the dakka dakka

In recent times, I have met fellow players who do not understand a Dakka Dakka player's role in the game. Sometimes the teammates dosnt want to understand but often it is because they do not have a clue about what we do on the battlefield. Our role is to provide fire support and suppresing fire from a distance. We are not brawlers or assaults and we are not frontline mechs.

Our auto cannon fire will disrupt and irritate the enemy mechs and cause them to lose focus, so that they either withdraw or start shooting at us. This gives our teammates the opportunity to advance with reduced incomming enemy fire so that they will be able to knock them out.
